Powering Up My Energy & Health

Happy Fall! I know I don’t have to say it, but 2020 has been quite a year. One of the things I’ve missed most has been competing in ultra-running races like I usually do every few months during typical years. But since March, I’ve had to figure out how to stay motivated on my own without competitive races to drive my training. So once the snow had melted away in the high country of Colorado in June, I started doing long marathon-length trail runs every Sunday for the summer.

For an endurance athlete like myself, having energy and focus are just as important as my physical fitness. That’s one of the main reasons why I started a partnership with MitoQ last January – to try out their advanced CoQ10 formula to see if it would work for me.

Unlike other ubiquinol antioxidant supplements on the market, the scientists at MitoQ added an ion which gives their CoQ10 a positive charge. This enables MitoQ to pass through the mitochondrial membrane in your cells far easier than traditional formulas, delivering antioxidants directly into the “powerhouse of the cell”, AKA the mitochondria. The mitochondria are the “powerhouse” because they transform oxygen and food into energy to power the cell’s biochemical processes and fight off free radicals from damaging your trillions of cells.

You could say MitoQ is the world’s first cellular super-charger! Click here to read more about the science behind it.

After taking MitoQ daily for about three months, I started feeling a noticeable difference. I was waking up less sore in the morning after hard workouts, and during my runs I noticed I could go further distances with less overall pain and an increase in my overall energy. Together, I’ve found I’m able to train more and I’m seeing small improvements in my running pace and even how I’m performing in the gym – my trainer said I must be doing something right!

Because it works on a cellular level, MitoQ can support your organ function, physical activity, recovery processes, digestion, hormones, immunity, sleep and even brain power.

I’ve had friends ask me how I stay healthy and what I use to supplement my training and I’ve let them know I eat super healthy, exercise daily, and that I’ve been taking MitoQ for the past 9 months! Even my non-athlete friends would benefit from it because it helps support an overall healthy energy whether you are working or training. So go check it out for yourself!

In Boulder we had our first snow storm in early September, but I’m hoping for a nice warm fall and winter so I can continue these weekly runs and hopefully get back to actual races in 2021!
